Eleanor Lane update

Update on Eleanor Lane proposal:
This was on the agenda for the last Cycling Forum but wasn't covered.  The proposal is for the construction of a new carriageway and footway between St Lawrence Road and Walker Road, including retaining wall structures and associated landscaping with alterations to Hadrian's Cycleway/Land Adjacent To Formers Shepherds Scrap Yard, Between Walker Road And St Lawrence Road, Byker
The latest news is that it has not yet gone to Planning Committee. If it is given approval the design will be the one on the planning portal website which has been available for comment for several months. The reference is 2010/1210/01/GRA if you want to look at it or comment at the Planning Portal.
I've checked and it is unlikely to be included in this month's planning meeting on 21st January so there is still time for comments to be made before the application goes to committee.
I will bring some copies of the plan to the Cycling Forum on Thursday 6 January (6pm, Bewick Dobson room, Civic Centre) but if you want to comment you need to do it through the planning portal in the Planning and Buildings section of the Newcastle City Council website - www.newcastle.gov.uk
I will also bring copies of a plan for signalising the junction of Walker Road and Ford Street with a toucan to improve cycle access. This is an initial plan and details have still to be finalised.
